Job Title: Diesel Mechanic
Location: Castlebar , Co.Mayo

Salary: €39,000 – €41,000 per annum
Annual Leave: 20 days

About the Role
We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Diesel Mechanic to join our clients maintenance team. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in diesel engines, particularly in bus and rail applications. You will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a range of diesel-powered vehicles and equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, and repair diesel engines, particularly those used in buses and rail systems
• Perform routine maintenance and scheduled servicing on diesel vehicles
• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical faults
• Maintain service records and ensure all work meets health and safety standards
• Collaborate with team members to ensure timely and effective repair solutions
• Use diagnostic tools and equipment effectively

Requirements

• Proven experience working with diesel engines, preferably in both bus and rail contexts
• Strong mechanical knowledge of diesel systems and components
• Ability to read technical manuals and schematics
• Skilled in the use of diagnostic equipment
• Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Strong commitment to health, safety, and quality standards
