Summary:
Our Client in Castlebar are looking for a short term contractor to run as their Head of Operations in Manufacturing at a senior leadership level. The Ideal consultant will hold 5+ years experience in a Senior Leadership position in a Medical Device/ Pharma company. The candidate can expect to be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of a manufacturing facility. The Consultant will ensures the execution of manufacturing plans, driving efficiency and quality in the production process. This role requires a strategic thinker with excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills to drive efficiency, productivity, and quality in the production process.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement operational strategies to achieve business objectives, including cost reduction, process improvement, and quality enhancement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align operational goals with business strategies.
- Oversee the management of production planning, scheduling, and control.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and company policies.
- Ensure that production records are evaluated and signed by an authorised person before they are sent to the Quality Assurance Department.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging employees to identify and implement process improvements.
- Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and performance metrics to measure operational performance.
- Analyze data to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
- Conduct regular performance reviews with team members to provide feedback and coaching.
- Recruit, train, and develop a high-performing team of operations staff.
- Foster a positive and inclusive work environment, promoting employee engagement and retention.
- Manage employee relations, including conflict resolution and performance management.
- Ensure adherence to quality and safety standards
- Develop and implement quality control processes to minimize defects and errors.
- Ensure that appropriate validations are completed
- Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Develop and manage relationships with suppliers to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of raw materials and components.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related experience required.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in manufacturing operations, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Proven track record of driving operational excellence, including cost reduction, process improvement, and quality enhancement.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements
- Experience with supply chain management, including procurement and logistics.
