Role: Junior Estimator/Quantity Surveyor
Location: Ballinrobe Office, with occasional site visits
Salary: €35k - €38k depending on experience
About the Role:
Gi Group is currently recruiting a Junior Estimator/Quantity Surveyor to join a dynamic team based in Ballinrobe. This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious individual looking to develop their career within the construction and engineering sector.
Key Responsibilities:

• Review project drawings and documentation for upcoming tenders
• Perform detailed take-offs for tender submissions
• Review and evaluate plant quotations
• Input take-offs and plant data into estimation software
• Compile and issue tender supporting documents
• Liaise with external estimators when necessary
• Identify and propose value engineering opportunities
• Attend site visits and client meetings as required

Supporting Duties

• Maintain the Work In Progress (WIP) list
• Set up project files and ensure proper document storage
• Print and organize drawings and tender documents
• Prepare estimation summaries
• Send quotation requests to suppliers and subcontractors
• Distribute tender documents to external estimators
• Complete and submit tender forms
• Organize and file both digital and hard copies of tender documentation
• Update estimation software with new products and revised pricing as required

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

• Some experience working within a contracting environment, ideally on M&E (Mechanical & Electrical) projects
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, MS Project, and PowerPoint
• A Level 7 or Level 8 degree in Quantity Surveying, Mechanical Engineering, or a similar discipline
