Overview

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer with a background in agricultural machinery, heavy equipment, or mechanical maintenance. This role focuses on the repair, servicing, and preventative maintenance of sandblasting machinery and related mechanical systems. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on engineering skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve mechanical issues efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose mechanical faults and carry out repairs on sandblasting machinery.
  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance to reduce machine downtime.
  • Support the installation and commissioning of new machinery on customer sites.
  • Inspect mechanical components for wear, damage, or safety concerns.
  • Replace, adjust, or repair mechanical parts such as hoses, valves, pumps, motors, and drive systems.
  • Document all maintenance work, parts used, and repair notes accurately.
  • Provide technical support and advice to customers regarding machinery use and care.
  • Work closely with the internal technical and operations teams to ensure a high level of service delivery.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Strong mechanical engineering background, ideally from agricultural machinery, construction equipment, plant machinery, or industrial maintenance.
  • Proven hands-on experience repairing and maintaining mechanical systems.
  • Ability to diagnose faults and carry out repairs independently.
  • Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical drive systems.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a practical, proactive mindset.
  • Full clean driving licence (if travel is required).

Desirable

  • Experience with sandblasting equipment or surface preparation machinery.
  • Exposure to industrial workshop environments.
  • Basic electrical or control system knowledge.
  • Ability to read mechanical diagrams, schematics, or manuals.
