​On behalf of one of Ireland’s leading, multi-disciplinary mechanical engineering firms, Gi Group Recruitment is seeking a career driven Mechanical Estimator.

Our client is a powerhouse in the Irish market, renowned for delivering large-scale, high-complexity mechanical services across the Commercial, Industrial, and Life Science sectors. With a strong regional presence in both Dublin and Wexford, they have built a reputation for engineering excellence and a "quality first" approach to project delivery.

We are looking for a professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and wants to play a fundamental role in the continued expansion of a premier Tier 1 contractor. ​ Core Responsibilities

• ​ Take-offs: Complete detailed mechanical take-offs (HVAC, Pipework, Plumbing) from drawings and specifications.
• ​ Tendering: Preparation and submission of competitive tenders for projects ranging from €100k to €5m+.
• ​ Supplier Liaison: Manage the sub-contractor and supplier inquiry process, ensuring all quotes meet technical specifications.
• ​ Risk Management: Identify potential commercial risks or technical gaps within tender documents and issue RFIs.
• ​ Handovers: Provide comprehensive project briefings to the site and project management teams upon successful bids.

​ Technical Requirements

• ​ Experience: 3–5 years of dedicated mechanical estimating in the Irish or UK market.
• ​ Education: Degree in Mechanical Engineering/Building Services or a Senior Trade background with relevant commercial experience.
• ​ Systems: Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Ensign, Trimble) and advanced Excel is essential.
• ​ Regulatory Knowledge: Working knowledge of current Irish Building Regulations and industry standards.

Working Conditions

• ​ Location: Flexibility to work from Dublin or Wexford offices.
• ​ Travel: Occasional travel to sites in both regions for pre-tender surveys.
