As Senior Trade Counter Specialist, you will be the cornerstone of the trade department, working directly with local builders, contractors, and DIY professionals who count on our expertise and personal touch. You’ll provide specialist advice, manage trade sales, and forge lasting customer relationships in a supportive, community-focused team. Your efforts are recognised with individual sales targets and attractive commission options, rewarding your commitment to service and results.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the main contact for trade customers, offering expert guidance on our extensive range of construction and hardware materials, tools, and accessories.
- Process trade orders quickly and accurately, coordinating closely with the warehouse team to ensure seamless fulfilment and delivery.
- Take time to understand your clients, anticipate their needs, and proactively recommend innovative solutions or promotions suited to their projects.
- Maintain strong ongoing relationships with trade accounts, ensuring repeat business by delivering consistent top-tier service and support.
- Monitor stock levels on the trade floor, proactively communicate demand trends to purchasing, and ensure popular items are always available.
- Troubleshoot and resolve customer issues efficiently—such as product queries, delivery delays, or technical challenges—upholding our reputation for reliability.
- Drive sales performance by working towards monthly targets and earn commission based on your results, with transparent rewards for your hard work.
- Stay up-to-date with industry developments and training, ensuring you offer the latest knowledge and insights to customers.
Requirements:
- experience in trade counter or hardware sales, preferably in a fast-paced environment.
- Advanced knowledge of construction materials, tools, and solutions.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills; ability to engage with a wide range of customers and build trust.
- Familiarity with inventory management, POS, and order processing systems; ability to handle multiple transactions efficiently.
- Positive, proactive attitude with strong problem-solving abilities.
- Genuine enthusiasm for working in a community-centric, family-run business.
- Proven track record of achieving sales targets and earning commission.
