Summary:
Our client in Shannon is looking to hire an experienced Technical Services Manager with a strong background in Chemistry, R&D and working in people leadership positions. Chemical Industry knowledge and background would be required to thrive in this position. Their will be a dual aspect to this position in supporting colleagues and customers with any Technical support needed whilst giving direction to other people within your team on the same subject matter.
Responsibilities:
- Provide technical support / guidance to both in-house colleagues and customers, including troubleshooting issues during daily Operations Meetings, and suggesting efficiencies and improvements across both departments
- Manage, develop, and motivate a team of professionals within the Technical Services department.
- Foster a collaborative, productive work environment that encourages continuous development and high performance.
- Contribute to maintenance of current accreditations (ISO17025, ISO17034, ISO45001, ISO9001) and the accreditation expansion projects including overseeing the development of the Metrology Centre, ensuring that it aligns with quality standards.
- Working closely with sales, NPI and other stakeholders to develop new products for customers
- Investigation and reporting of technical customer complaints
- Participation in internal and external audits as required
- Oversee the performance of the Technical Services department, ensuring they meet KPIs and deliver high-quality results across their operations.
- Any other responsibilities as may be assigned by the Country Manager or any member of the Senior Leadership team.
Requirements:
- Experience Broad ranging scientific experience with significant customer interaction
- Proven leadership in managing teams, particularly in technical or quality environments
- Experience and understanding of ISO9001, ISO17025 and ISO17034
- Excellent technical knowledge and trouble shooting skills
- In-depth understanding of Metrology and quality processes
- Qualifications Chemistry and preferably educated to PhD level
- Excellent people management skills
- Scientific and systematic approach to problem solving
