Summary:
Our Client is a global leader in the life science and diagnostics industry, offering a diverse portfolio of businesses that combine the resources of a large company with the agility of a small business. For this position the client is seeking two dedicated Business Development Specialists to drive sales and achieve regional targets across all of Ireland. One role focusing on Environmental Instrumentation and Consumables and the other focusing on Laboratory Instrumentation and Consumables. This role is a field-based role requiring the successful candidate to travel across Ireland.
Responsibilities:
- Achieve regional sales and margin targets as set by the company.
- Meet KPIs and maintain customer-related sales information within ProspectSoft.
- Cover all of Ireland, including Northern Ireland.
- Actively contribute to the success of the Sales Team
- Service existing accounts, obtain orders, and establish new accounts by planning and organizing daily schedules.
- Sustain rapport with key accounts through periodic visits, exploring specific needs, and anticipating new opportunities.
- Maintain activity reports using ProspectSoft and Outlook, including weekly work plans and monthly/annual territory analysis.
- Develop sales across the company portfolio of Environmental Instrumentation and Consumable agencies.
- Collaborate effectively with the Internal Sales Team, Sales Specialists, and Engineering Team to maximize client engagement.
- Monitor competition by gathering and sharing current marketplace information on pricing, products, delivery schedules, and merchandising techniques.
- Contribute to relationship management with laboratory suppliers, developing business relationships and engaging in joint customer activities.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending workshops, training events, trade shows, and participating in professional networks.
- Recommend changes in product portfolio, service, and policy by evaluating results, new vendors, and competitive developments.
- Act as a responsible representative of the company, ensuring the best interests of the company, its employees, customers, and suppliers are upheld.
- This is a field-based role with an expectation of 60% of time engaged in customer appointments.
Qualifications
- Science degree or equivalent qualification
- 2 years' of working in industry, sales or sales support role
- Excellent communication skills
- Experience in waste water treatment or chemistry is advantageous
