About the Role
We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist / Toolmaker to join our client’s growing team in County Mayo. The successful candidate will be responsible for programming, setting, and operating CNC milling machines (3-axis & 5-axis) to produce precision components. This is a hands-on role that also involves working with engineering teams to optimize tooling designs and improve processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and modify tooling designs, machine programs, and processes using CAD/CAM software.
- Set up and operate 3-axis & 5-axis CNC milling machines to produce high-precision components.
- Interpret technical drawings and specifications to determine machining requirements.
- Collaborate with design and engineering teams to improve manufacturability and efficiency.
- Perform routine machine maintenance, troubleshooting, and minor repairs.
- Monitor production processes to maintain quality and make adjustments when necessary
- Inspect finished products using precision measuring instruments to ensure compliance.
- Maintain accurate documentation including machine logs, tooling records, and inspection reports.
- Stay current with new machining technologies and recommend process improvements.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Toolmaker / CNC Machinist, with strong CNC milling background.
- Proficient in CAD/CAM software for tooling design and programming.
- Hands-on experience with 3-axis and 5-axis CNC milling machines.
- Strong knowledge of machining principles, tooling concepts, and measurement techniques.
- Experience with Wire EDM, grinding, or mill-turn machines is highly desirable.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- High attention to detail with a focus on quality output.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Effective communicator and team player.
- Flexibility to work overtime (evenings/weekends paid at 1.5x rate).
What We Offer

Competitive salary: €40,000 – €55,000 (DOE)
- 40-hour work week: Monday – Friday, 8:30am – 4:30pm
- Paid overtime at 1.5x rate (evenings & weekends available)
