We’re looking for a skilled Maintenance & Service Technician with 3–5 years of experience working with heavy machinery—specifically Hitachi hydraulic excavators —to join our service team. You will be responsible for carrying out diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs both in the workshop and occasionally on-site.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on Hitachi hydraulic excavators
- Perform regular preventative maintenance and servicing
- Accurately complete service reports and maintain documentation
- Collaborate with other technicians and parts personnel to ensure efficient service delivery
- Provide technical support and advice to customers as needed
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company standards
Requirements
- 3–5 years’ hands-on experience maintaining and repairing construction equipment, ideally Hitachi hydraulic excavators
- Solid understanding of hydraulic systems, diesel engines, and electrical systems
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Full Irish driving licence (preferred)
Preferred Qualifications
- OEM training or certification with Hitachi or similar brands
NVQ or City & Guilds in Plant Maintenance or related field
