Our client, a well-established, market leading company who specialise in the design, manufacture, and sale of machinery, based in Tipperary.
We are currently looking for an experienced Production Manager. As the Production Manager you will report directly to the Plant Manager and oversee a team of over 50 Production Floor Staff and several Team Leaders.
The Production manager will plan, coordinate, and control production, to ensure product is manufactured safely, efficiently and to the required quality standard. Focusing on three key areas, machine shop, welding, and finished goods.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute agreed production targets for product lines daily, weekly, and in accordance with the company KPIs
- Support Daily PIT (Performance-Issues-Targets) meetings which are held with Team Leads and Team members to ensure production targets are achieved
- Create and execute recovery plans where output targets have not been met. Investigate and eliminate repeat issues
- Identify strategies to reduce production costs, increase efficiencies and eliminate waster
- Drive lean principles throughout the production facility
- Set Safety standards ensuring that H&S guidelines and regulations are met
- Provide up to date reports and KPI information on an ongoing basis
- Determine Quality Standards – Monitor and implement
- Work with Engineering to ensure design work is complete
- Liaise with Supply Chain on Production Schedules
Requirements:
- Minimum level 7 degree qualified or equivalent experience in the field of manufacturing engineering
- 5-7 years hands on production manager experience, managing a team of 30+ employees
- Metal manufacturing experience is essential. Fabrication experience is desirable. Agricultural background desirable
- System orientated person who is report driven. A strong proficiency in excel is required in this environment
- High attention to detail, quality driver, H&S orientated
- Demonstrate lean manufacturing experience and results
- A focused, resilient person who can demonstrate their ability to manage change and challenges
