Location: Cork City
Contract Type: 18 Month Fixed Term

Overview:
An international organisation is seeking an experienced Senior Credit & Collections Specialist to join their Global Financial Solutions (GFS) team in Cork. This is an opportunity for an accomplished collections professional to manage complex customer portfolios in diverse international markets. The successful candidate will play a key role in cash flow management, risk mitigation, and process improvement within an evolving finance function.
Responsibilities:

  • Own and manage a complex international debtor portfolio, driving improvements in Days Sales Outstanding (DSO), reducing overdue exposure, and maximising cash collection performance.
  • Conduct timely and effective follow-ups on due and overdue invoices, maintaining a structured and professional approach.
  • Collaborate with Credit Risk colleagues to complete credit assessments and provide informed recommendations on customer credit limits, in line with policy and payment history.
  • Support activities related to the credit block process, ensuring prompt resolution and escalation as necessary.
  • Prepare and analyse monthly DSO, aging, and flux reports, highlighting risks, trends, and actionable insights for management.
  • Build strong partnerships with Commercial, Customer Service, and Finance teams, to resolve complex collection or credit issues and influence outcomes.
  • Contribute to ongoing process improvement initiatives—sharing best practices and supporting enhancements to credit and collections operations.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service, balancing commercial goals with the maintenance of strong customer relationships.
  • Offer support to the Credit & Collections function, promoting a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and providing buddy cover when required.

Requirements:

  • Significant experience in Credit & Collections, ideally within a multinational or shared services environment.
  • Third-level qualification in Finance, Business, Accounting, or a related discipline, or an equivalent level of relevant experience.
  • Strong understanding of the end-to-end Order to Cash (OTC) process.
  • Sound judgement and ability to interpret customer financial statements.
  • Proven track record managing sensitive customer and stakeholder relationships professionally and confidently.
  • Self-driven and proactive, comfortable working independently and taking initiative.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate business needs into actionable solutions.
  • Positive, adaptable, and solutions-oriented, able to thrive in a fast-paced, global setting.
  • High levels of integrity, attention to detail, and personal accountability.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with advanced Excel skills for analysis, reconciliations, and reporting.
  • ERP experience, with preference for SAP or Oracle.
  • Solid experience across Order to Cash processes.
